Weekend!

It has been a tough week. Don't have any new pictures for you, because of tiredness. It is is fun to watch the first-year students learn. Just imagine... One year ago I was like them. It is so cute.
I'd like to expand the mediaplayer test a little. I want you who read this to give me new questions I can ask my mediaplayer, and the answers will come in next entry!
So.. What do you all want to know about me? Let us ask my mediaplayer!
Until I get some new pictures, you will keep getting ones from my Sweden trip. This is mr BigOak.
Save the cats everyone!

See ya!

Back in school

Good old acrobatics.. I am knackered.. Anyway, I will begin by giving you some slightly old news. My japanese housemate Ruriko was robbed the other day. Some assholes grabbed her from behind took her bag and ran. She had over £300 in there along with all her things like cards, phone and keys. We spent yesterday evening cheering her up. Does she look cheered up? (pay no attention to the unmade bed in the background, it is only an illusion)
Anyway, one of the guys from the new class comes from the M-Town!
Apparently, he knew a lot of people I know! and went in the same class as BigOak! Small friggin world!
I will now give you my reslut in a fun test I stole from Silvestris, who stole it from an array of people. The trick is to let Media Player tell you who you are. You load all your songs into a playlist and let it select songs randomly as answers to these questions. Here are my results:

What do you think of me, Windows Media Player?
Final Fantasy VII soundtrack – Tifa’s Theme

Me? Tifa? Not you too, MediaPlayer!

Will I have a happy life?
Queen of the Damned Soundtrack – Cold
Uh oh…
Ok hang on just a minute here. Cold.. Fine! Damned.. ok, I'll be a vampire but what is this queen business! Did Hannah put you up to this, Mediaplayer!?

What do my friends really think of me?
Leonard Cohen – Love itself

Wow.. really?

Do people secretly lust after me?
Nightwish – Ever dream

Sigh… Thanks a lot.

What does [insert significant other] think of me?
The Lion King Soundtrack – Can you feel the love tonight

YES! SCORE! All I need now is a significant other to apply it to.

How can I make myself happy?
Cat Power – Moonshiner
… I should find happiness in drinking vast amounts of alcohol. You suck as a role model, man.

What should I do with my life?

Final Fantasy – Continue

Life goes on? Now we’re talking!

Why must life be so full of pain?
Ennio Morricone – Lonesome Billy
Yeah… sigh…

How can I maximize my pleasure during sex?
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Soundtrack – the Spiders

Uhh.. I… ummmm… Oh! I see! A bit of danger and excitement! That’s what you mean, right? Right?

Will I ever have children?
Twins – Going to Santa Fe
Twins? Really? Wow…

Will I die happy?
Leonard Cohen – Light as a breeze
Ok. oh well... a bit boring perhaps but I can think of worse ways to go.

Can you give me some advice?
Ennio Morricone - Childhood and manhood.
Shut up.

Do you know where your children are?
Requiem for a dream Soundtrack – Coney Island Dreaming
Now you ARE scaring me!

What do you think happiness is?
The Last Crusade Soundtrack – Keeper of the Holy Grail
I must find the grail? Is that a metaphor?

What's your favorite fetish?
the Ghost and the Darkness Soundtrack – Preparations
Hmm… Man eating lions... Silly humans thinking they stand a chans.. *licks my fangs*
Does that suit me? I'm not sure...

That's it for today. Save the cats! Specially the man eating lions!

See ya!

World Citezen

I'm getting used to travelling. I recently landed in London and there is no special feeling about it. It has become an everyday occurance (not literally) The world may be pretty big, but still it is only one place. There is really only one place. It is only my thinking about my surroundings that make it seem like different places. And the company. Home is not where the heart is, let's face it, the heart could be anywhere. Home is where your friends are. I miss you guys! I'm doing my best to visit ya'all! Come see me too! It'll be fun! We'll go see all the nifty lion statues!
By the way, today is Hannah's birthday!
Happy Birthday Hannah! Have a good one! Apart from the symbol of the contradiction in Russian patriotism, I will give you one more gift. I will send it by snailmail. I am not rich, so do not expect a diamond, but I think it can be considered fun. I just thought of it.

Well, I am back in Brittland. Haven't even got home yet, so this will be a quick one. Tomorrow I'll go say hi to people around the school before monday.. seing the new 1st year studens will be fun. See you all around christmas all you Swedes! hugs!
As long as you save the cats!
As today's finale, I will give you one more picture from my Swedish holiday. I realized I have not shown a lot of pictures of my youngest neice, Clara. Here she is.

See ya!

Opposites.

Labour day is an American tradition. It is the day that no one does any labour. This is my holiday, where I get no rest. I am not complaining, I met old friends during the weekend so I had a good time. I have got to steal one evening of sleep though, before I go back to Brittland.
Well. On the Friday I got to the T-hat and met up with Janni and Hannah. We had a nice reuinion and the gals had some... verbal fights. No catfight occured though, if it did I would have shown pictures. We went on the the Pianobar, where I found out that it is about to be closed down. Rest in piece, pianobar, you will be missed.
At this bar I met up with Patrik and his bro Niklas. They have, like most T-hatters nowadauys, become total WoW junkies. I spent the night at Hannah and Patrik's place. Apparently I must have been quite dirty, because one of their cats, Boris, saw it fit to give me a grooming. We watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Great musical! Tim Curry is cool. The next day I went to my cusin Daniel's birthday party. He has now hit the big Three-O (30)
That night I went back to the T-hat and reunited with Nefus. We spoke, laughed, drank and played computer games. Good old classmate of mine. Then I went to get some sleep at Hannah and Patrik's place once again. Boris had other plans, however. He required petting as payment for the earlier grooming and after that, his housemate Frans also wanted petting and I couldn't be unfair so petting was applied.
The following day we had a meeting about the short film Dödsbo. I have now met Li, who is to be something like Production Design on the film. Good old Andreas Sollien and Conny were also at the meeting. After the meeting we met Björn. Then we had lunch. After lunch, Björn went home and the rest of us helped on the shoot of a music video.
This last picture is a picture of Li, holding a reflector. Welcome to our world, miss Li. Please wear a helmet. And always bring your toothbrush. Don't ask why.
Save the cats, people!
(edit: Li asked me to censor the this picture of her. Let this be a lesson! Be careful with what you wish for BWUAHAHAHAHA!!!)

See ya!

yaawn..

I am tired... Got up early today and went to work.. Today it invloved much heavy lifting and carrying. I got the bluetooth headset for my phone to work. Now I can look like a vantrue yuppie, yay! In a few hours I will be in T-hat, vistin' the old homies. I don't have much time to seek people out, so I ask everyone who wants to meet me to be at the Pianobar tonight. I am very tired, yes but I will be somewhat alert for the reunion.. then I will snuggle up on Hannah's floor and sleep. Maybe sofa... Depends...
Say what? Oh! the contest! Well.. here we go.
Here are the winning captions.

"If I turn the webcam this way that zombie in the middle of my room might go away.. no? Damn..."

By Björn Swendsén, 5 points, welcome to the game!

Translation "Mmmm... Finally, a swedish ear"

By Conny Andersson, 3 points. Should have been in English though, dude.

"It's true! Fedus-head-nurse from south park IS based on a real person!"

By Hannah Lemoine, 2 points. This would probably have been funnier if I knew who this "Fedus-headed-nurse" was... Sorry.

The Positions!

Hannah now has 45 Points
Conny now has 25 points
Silvestris and Marcus still have 10 points
Frida and Björn have 5 points.

See you soon guys! And as always, save the cats or prepare to be horribly mutilated! Hugs!

tired.

A bit weary. Work... I've been running around like crazy at the hospital, inspecting the possibilities of IP TeleKom upgrades. And guess what! I have been volunteered for weekend work as well. And twelve hours per day! Don't remember volunteering for it, but I guess that's the way things go. sigh. Anyway, I've been hanging out a little bit with the oaks, and I just ordered my new computer! There is light in the universe sometimes. I'd like to have written more, but I am just too tired. I'll give you a picture.. Oh and by the way, I have the rest of my Russia pictures now, so you'll see some in a few days!
Before I go to bed, I'll give you a fun little contest. This will be a captions contest. First place will get 5 points.. second place will get 3 points and third place will get 2 points. Create speech bubbles, or a short story behind the next picture. It can be funny, a deep poem, a cool saying, anything.. as long as I like it. Here we go.

And never forget to save the cats!

See ya!

OMGWTF!?!?!?!?

I left for airport three hours before I had to. Got to Tottenham Hale and waited for the Stanstead Express Train. A train arrived and I got on expecting a 35 minute journey to the airport. 45 minutes later I realized something is wrong. I asked a girl sitting near me.
"We are going to Stanstead, right?"
She looked at me. "no..."
I said, in a southern USA accent "God damnit."
She looked at me more. "Where are you going?"
"I'm flying to Sweden..."
"Wow... Have you ever been to Cambridge?"
"... no."
"Well. in 17 minutes, you will be."
"Whops."
That's right. I got on the wrong train and ended up in Cambridge. Lucklily, the girl I met (who was a clever solicitor by the way) managed to call some people and hook me up on a delayed train going from Cambridge to Stanstead. If that train had not been 40 minutes delayed, I would not have been able to board it and catch my flight. I screwed up, but the combigned efforts of my blind luck, and this marvelous girl (Damn, I didn't even ask for her name!) I still made it to Sweden! I thanked her very much, and we had a nice chat. In Sweden I celebrated my grandfather's 80th birthday. Had a nice time with the family, and Moffe was as usual very happy to see me. That night me and Karin took a long walk under the night sky, talking about everything. Me and her can have really nice talks sometimes.
Today, I am going to save the cats, then I will go visit the oaks!

See ya!

Mama, I'm comin' home

Uh-huh uh-huh uh-huh. One year down, two to go! This time tomorrow I will be in Sweden for two weeks. Unfortunetly I will be working for most of the time, so the people in the Hat of the Troll will only see me next weekend. There is a small chance that some days I will work in Lidkoiping and then I will be able to be there for those days, if some kind soul would like to house a strange creature like myself. I can't say I never bite, but I am definetly housebroken.

You may have noticed a lack of a daily entry yesterday. The day was full of educational schoolness. Don't worry, you know I'll always come back!

Yesterday we showed A Portrait of a Madonna. It went great. We got fantastic feedback and we all had to endure many many compliments afterwards. It was said by the turtors that our acting had "very high standard". This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and for someone like me, who is already quite fuzzy, that means a lot. This was the last piece where I worked with Barbara Hatwell. She was only doing the one year course.
It was great workin with ya, Barb. Now go knock 'em dead! Me and Alex will move on to the next stage of the Jedi Academy. We shall be strong, we shall be great, we shall say a lot of naughty words in the green-room and laugh.

Tonight, I must pack my bags and get ready for the flight. Therefore I shall leave you now. I will not leave you empty handed though. As usual you will get to see a nice picture just because you are nice people and do what you can to save the cats every day.
Here they are. Moffe and Lil' oak. Oh dear... Moffe.. I'll see you tomorrow buddy! And Oakie, I'll see you the day after! Keep yer flesh nice and tender for my teeth. Oh my god... did I just write that?

See ya!

The time is near...

How is everyone? Tomorrow we will show "A Portrait of a Madonna" by Tennessee Williams! Yep, I'm feelin good. In a few days I will be in Sweden as well. I have to be back in school in a little bit. This entry will be very short. In fact, this here, is it! Don't forget to save the cats, and enjoy this here picture of my Niece, Rebecka.

See ya!

And the Peter goes to...

This is the day that the wonderful contest will be judged! Let's waste no time. And the Peter goes too:
Hannah Lemoine. Because she sent me a picture that did indeed wake memories. Memories of friendships, nice times, fun games and sheer horror, all packed into a neat packet of humiliation and nostalgia. It conserned a certain lost bet. The word is.. intense.
Here is her story:
The picture I have sent is a memory of that one time I actually won over Peter (no, not in fighting, he still blocks the hell out of me). And even though the punishment was awful and humiliating, Peter stood up like a man and took it. I laughed and laughed and laughed, and took pictures of it. Here is how it went.
Peter and me sat in sädesbingen one night, playing Trivial Pursuit. We had both filled our pieces and it was all about who would get the last question. Peter's question was. "Is there a chimp that has a black belt in Karate?" ( or something like that) He answered no, animals don't get graded in martial arts. But apparently, they do! (creepy little monkey!)
The deal was that if I lost, I would have to be made up as a clown at the next party I would go to. But since I won, Peter had to let me give him a make-over to look like a girl and take pictures! It was a great evening, wasn't it?

Great evening indeed! *mutters* No, I am being mean, it was fun, and yes, I took it like a man! (a man with lipstick and fake eye-lashes)
I will also be strong and share this picture with all of you, as I promised. (I mean it could have been worse, this is just a headshot after all) There it is. Laugh it up folks, laugh it up. Spite everything though, it was a fun evening, Hannah! I'll be back soon for more fun evenings (slightly different ones though)

Guess what? There is a runner-up.

Say hello to Conny Andersson.
He pieced together a collage of pictures from when I was a photographer and we had great times filming together. It did bring back nice memories of the projects and the fun we had together. However, using many pictures instead of one seems a little greedy of him and it didn't specify one moment in time, so the feelings that arise are more genralized than focused meaning it doesn't get as intense as the memory of one moment in time can be.
It was very nice to see however, and the picture is shown here:

Magnifcient contest, wasn't it? I like, I like. On a sidenote, Hannah will actually recieve 2 Bonus points for taking the initiative to write comments in English. NorthLion's Journal is in English because I have some readers who are not so good at reading Swedish and so writing in English to the best of your ability is essential for the proper ettiquette. Bjorn did write his first comment in English, but quickly swung back to Swedish, so the 2 Bonus Points will go to Hannah. Now for the rest of the points. Hannah won the picture contest, giving her 10 Points. Conny was runner-up and will recieve 5 points.
The positions are as follows.

Hannah has 43 Points
Conny has 22 points
Silvestris and Marcus still have 10 points
Frida still has 5 points.

In tradition of this journal, do not forget you care about me (NorthLion) by doing your best to save the cats. A new wonderful contest will show up in a short while.

What? You want a fun picture to finish off with? Take a glance earlier in the entry, man! You ain't gonna get a heavier laugh today!

See ya!

Where are you?

About 24 hours left. Where are the pictures, people? There's got to be something you can find or scrape together! Come on! It is almost time to show the play. The set is looking messy (it's supposed to be messy so it's all good) and the costumes are all fixed. Not much more to say, really. I'll show you the people around my household.
This is Leena, the landlady. She is Italian, but speaks like 4-5 different languages. Impressive.

Ruriko the Ninja! She is japanese, and tought me to make Sushi! In this picture, she is eating watermelon.

This is Peter the Greek. He often visits Leena and us to talk about perverted japanese people.

This is Yuka. She is a friend of Ruriko and I think she is a kind of magical anime character. that smile.. she always always has it. The guy in the background is Ben, Leena's son. He is a doctor.

There are two individuals who have managed to avoid having their pictures taken. Never fear though, I'll get them soon enough. Lookie here, the results of my Sushi Lesson!

Do not forget to Save the Cats!

See ya!

Attention all Britts!

Yes, I know you pride yourselves in being helpful and I think it is a very commendable trait, I really do. However, I must make one little request... If someone asks you for directions, and you do not know how to help, it is far more helpful to be honest and say "I don't know" than to make an answer up. This morning on the way to Hampstead Heath I found out that the bus didn't stop at it's normal place this weekend and I should get on it by Morris Place. I asked a bloke in the station about directions to this Morris place, and he sends me off walking in the opposite direction for 40 minutes! Morris place was acctually just around the opposite corner! Please, if you do not know the way, don't make one up! It is very unlikely to, due to extreme luck, turn out to be the right way!

After getting that off my chest, I'll tell you about my walk. I got off the bus by a forest and walked straight in. A stranger in a wild forest, I love that feeling. I didn't think it was possible to get it so close to London!
Nice trees, nice lakes, and a castle I couldn't find, must've been one of those invisble castles. You know the ones hidden away by magic and sorcery! Maybe not...
I did find a huge mansion though. I couldn't get into the yard, but it was surrounded by a garden and walls that you could walk on top of.
The walls were groovy, some trees and other plants were growing around them, starting to cover them. Closer to Hampstead the forest turned into a touristy, picnick type-park. Not really my cup of tea, but I can see it was a nice place for people who take picnicks. I bought an ice-cream.

Two more days before the picture contest will be judged. Come on people, hurry up! Hannah isn't even getting any resitance here. Are you going to let a girl win!? (*wink* to Hannah, who is probably giggling hysterically right now) So go save the cats, find/make a picture that binds us and wakes memories! Waste no more time! GO!

See ya!

I am such a good boy

Not much to report today so this will be a quickie. I'm relaxed. I have cleaned my room, had some nachos and decided to go for a walk tomorrow in Hampstead Heath. Foresty! I'll take a few pictures with the crappy camera in my phone. Now it is time for me to do some more relaxing. In one week from now I will be in Sweden. Who wants to say hi and give me a hug? Time for me to sign off for the day.
Go save the cats, and enjoy this picture until tomorrow. Looks kinda magical, don't it?

See ya!
